Can't change WooCommerce category name or slug

If I try to change the name and slug of a WooCommerce category, I get an “Item Not Updated” error message. I think this only happens if the category has any products assigned to it; empty categories seem to allow changes.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to change category names once items are assigned to the category? Or is there something else wrong that I’m missing.
