    Hey all,

I have assigned several users to one of the sites in my network and set them all as Authors, but I am unable to assign posts to them in the first instance. Before I can, I must set there level for the site to at least Editor, and then I can assign posts. I can then drop them right down to Contirbutor and still be able to assign posts to them (as expected).

Is this a bug anyone knows about? If so, is there an easy fix? It’s a pain having to go through all users and manually make these changes.

    Thanks.

Ah, and the answer is – WordPress is putting the meta_value ‘0’ next to the meta_key wp_{blog-id_}usermeta, no matter what level I add a user to a blog as.

    Was it a plugin interfering?

I had the same problem when importing an existing site to a new installation. The dropdown box was there, but only the admin was listed as an available author.

Turns out all users except my admin were reset to “Subscriber”, so I could not assign posts to them.

I changed all of them to “Contributor” (except those who are supposed to be Editor, of course) and that was enough to take care of the problem.

    No plugins were interfering.

    WP 3.3.2.
