• I just installed WordPress for a new website installed as a subdomain on my hosting provider. I do NOT yet have a domain name for my website, but wanted to install WordPress to develop the website and decide the domain name later. I have a subscription to Divi (Elegant Themes) and want to use Divi as my theme. However, When I go to Appearance > Themes, there is no “Add New” theme button. The installed theme is Twenty Sixteen, but there is no apparent way to change the theme or install Divi (which I downloaded to my computer from the Divi website).

  • that is really strange situation.
maybe your wordpress didn’t install as it’s supposed to.

you can try to re-install it, by going to updates, reinstall now,
or you can just this link in your browser which will direct you to page for theme uploading:

    wp-admin/theme-install.php?upload

optionally you can install it through FTP client such as Filezilla.

Thanks. Unfortunately, the link you provided says “this site can be reached.”

    I mean, “can’t be reached”…

    Link I provided

    /theme-install.php?upload

is something you add to you existing page when you’re in admin panel,
    like https://www.smth.com/wp-admin//theme-install.php?upload

    where smth is your page.

if this doesn’t work you should really reinstall WordPress.

I have the same problem here. when i download it says that update failed, and when I download it from here and i try to upload it, it says that the file is too big. what should i do ?
