While testing MC4WP I had my store connected to a test list in MailChimp. After testing was complete, I tried resetting the store and connecting it with my actual production MailChimp list but MailChimp isn’t letting me. Following your instructions at https://www.mc4wp.com/kb/change-mailchimp-ecommerce-list/, I hit the “reset” data and proceeded to go through the process of setting up my store again, choosing the correct list. But MailChimp returns this error:
Bad Request. Invalid Resource. A list may not be changed once a store is created.

How do resolve this? I’ve searched MailChimp’s knowledge base for answers, but all I can find is this:

After a Store is created and tied to a list/audience, it cannot be connected to a different list/audience. (frpm https://mailchimp.com/developer/guides/getting-started-with-ecommerce/#Syncing_an_e-commerce_store).

Any help or advice appreciated. I’m currently using MailChimp’s WooCommerce integration but would really like to switch to MC4WP (and have already paid for your premium upgrade)>

You will need to reset the store connection (there is a link for that in our plugin settings).
When you reset the connection it will ask you if you want to delete all order data from the MailChimp list, you probably want to do that in this case.

Upon re-connecting the store after resetting the connection all old orders will be synced again to the list you select during the initial setup.

If you use any other plugin (not Mailchimp for WordPress) we can’t help you at all, things will work differently.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!

I did reset the store connection (although unchecked “delete all order data”).

That’s when I got the error from MailChimp’s API.

As I mentioned above, MailChimp’s documentation says “After a Store is created and tied to a list/audience, it cannot be connected to a different list/audience.”

You think I should try again but this time keep the “delete all order data” checked?

I just don’t want to lose any old order data in MailChimp’s reporting.

    Hey @megunticook,

Yes, please try again but delete all order data. Also, please note that since you are using the premium version of our plugin, please contact us directly at “[email protected]” as it’s against the policy of this site to support premium plugins.

OK, I’ll give that a shot and will check in with you via email. Thanks.

Note that if you are using MailChimp’s WooCommerce integration as you mentioned in the last line of your posts, things may work differently and we can’t give you any further support with that.

If you use Mailchimp for WordPress Premium add-on that has ecommerce sync you can click the red help button on any page of the plugin settings for Premium support.

    Thanks!

Got it working, thanks for the help. I ditched the plugin provided by MailChimp, not dependable. Hopefully your plugin will do a better job. So far so good.
