Can't Change Blog POST URL

  • Hi,

    I can’t change the blog post url.. the one right under a blog title… example:
    domain.com/welcome-to-my-website

    I want to change to:
    domain.com/welcome

  • Go to that post/page in the WordPress Admin area.

    Right under the title box you should see the Permalink for the post/page.

    Click on the “Edit” button just to the right of the link.

    Change it from ‘welcome-to-my-website’ to ‘welcome’
    (no quote marks are required.)

    Click “Ok”

    Then click the “Update” button.

    You should be good to go!

    That’s my issue.. is when I click it to edit it… it does nothing and takes me to a page that echos out: #post_name in the url box. =/
