can’t block site.ru as user a refferer

    I have added site.ru to the blacklisted user agents previously but it still appeared in 404 logs. So, I can’t block domains (referrers) with this plugin?!

    Hi,

    404 lockout – 60 min. (As I understand this only works if I manually block IP from 404 log)

    Can you increase the lockout period to a higher number i.e. 6000 min.

    Fake Googlebots – enabled.

    Good.

    We also have an addon smart-404-security-blocking-addon that you might consider installing.

    Well, increasing lockout period also that addon might help but I fear blocking by IPs might create a lot of entries, also sometimes I see my own IP in 404. Domain blocking would be better.
    Thanks for your your help, hope Aiowps will improve this feature.

    That didn’t work because you are trying to block the referrer but that feature is for “user agents”.
    Currently there isn’t an inbuilt blocking mechanism for referrers.

    For now you could add a rule manually as suggested by @kdh10.
    In the meantime we will look at perhaps expanding the firewall rules to block based on “HTTP_REFERER”.
