I am currently getting the following error message when I try to do a backup on two of my sites:

“Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you need to authorise or re-authorise your connection to Google Drive.”

I have separate Google Drive accounts for each of my sites and set up the Updraft backups to each one separately.

    Hi,

Please could you send us a copy of the latest backup log? This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle

I’ve been having the same problem for about 20 days. I have to constantly redo the authentication with Google Drive.
My configuration is simpler: a single site, a single backup.
    The error appears in:
    – When I try to do the backup manually (it appears in the log): ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?) (cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details:
    error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed) (http_request_failed)

    – In the settings page called “Current status”: the same as above
On the settings page it says “(It seems you are already authenticated, if you have a problem you can still authenticate yourself again and update your access).“.
The backup works for a couple of days and then starts giving problems again. I’ve been going crazy for about 20 days.

    Regards
    Andrea.

Yesterday I redo the whole procedure for coupling with Google Drive, I started the backup manually and it was finished positive.
Today there are again the same problems as yesterday (and the last few days)!

    Hi,

Please could you try adding the following line to your wp-config.php file:

    define('UPDRAFTPLUS_IPV4_ONLY', true);

Then, re-authenticate with Google Drive. Does UpdraftPlus keep authentication in this case?

Ok, I made this addition. We will see in the next days what happens.

    Regards,
    Andrea

P.S.: A message appeared at the top of the UpDarftPlus menu:
Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: Invalid curl configuration option in /web/htdocs/mydomain/home/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/IO/Curl.php on line 93

That file modification (wp-config.php) has resolved NOTHING!
This morning I found the usual error message:
You have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you must authorize or re-authorize the connection to Google Drive. (cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK Details: error: 14090086: SSL routines: SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE: certificate verify failed) (http_request_failed)

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

Please could you enable the ‘Use the server’s SSL certificates’ option in the UpdraftPlus expert settings section? You will then need to reauthenticate.

Do you still see the error?

The manually launched backup was performed without errors. Usually the error appears with automatic backup, after a day. Tomorrow we’ll see if it works.

    Regards
    Andrea.

I want to confirm that after 6 days of verification, everything works regularly. So the last change is the one that solves the problem of authentication with google drive.

    Thanks
    Andrea.

@ancan Out of interest, what PHP version do you have?

    David

    @davidanderson
Unfortunately, my version is very old: PHP 5.2.17
I do not have the possibility to update it.
