Can’t back up my blog!

  • This is the warning that I got
    WARNING: Your wp-content directory is NOT writable! We can not create the backup directory.
    /home/backpcom/public_html/startmanifesting/wp-content/backup-9d295/
    WARNING: Your backup directory is NOT writable! We can not create the backup directory.
    /home/backpcom/public_html/startmanifesting/
    This blog was set up and deleted once and then reinstalled.

    I need a step-by-step as I am a beginner and don’t read code or know anything technical.

    you need to make the directory wp-content/ writable.

    that means you need to chnage the permissions on it.

    changing permissions == chmod

    does that help?

    I do not use that plugin, so I dont know exactly what permissions are required, Im guessing its the dreaded 777 though.

    Read the above then go back and re-read that page keeping in mind what little ive said here ??

    Thats a good page to get to know intimately, theres a lot of info, but its good info and necessary.
