    Do anyone have a solution?

I just installed Google Analytics by Yoast Version 5.3.3 and when I try to authenticate with my Google account, I get the pop-up window asking me to confirm the action. I do, and it gives me a code to copy. I paste that into the Yoast plugin, and it appears to save it, but nothing changes. I can click on the save button at the bottom of the page, but still nothing changes. If I go to any other page, I still get the “Please configure your Google Analytics settings” message at the top of the page. I’ve tried it on two different browsers, Firefox and Chrome, but get the same results.

I also tried doing the manual configuration with that code, but I get the message “The UA code needs to follow UA-XXXXXXXX-X format.”

On my Google account page, it says that “Google Analytics by Yoast
Has access to Google Analytics”, but the plugin doesn’t seem to think it does and the “View your Google Analytics data” link on my Google account page is grayed out and non-functional.

Any ideas as to how to get it to save the information correctly?

The site is located at https://vegasagentlee.com/

    Thanks,
    Mike

I too installed the latest version and can go through the authentication process, copy and paste the code and save and still get the notice that I need to authenticate and to “Please configure your Google Analytics settings!”

I keep authenticating but it keeps telling me to configure your Google Analytics settings. Same problem as jhdean. Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Resolved:

When trying to authenticate, I was logged into my Google webmaster tools account but had not yet set up a Google analytics account. As soon as I set up the analytics account, authentication the Yoast plugin worked as it was meant to.

I cut-and-pasted the Authentication Code as instructed, but it was never recognized. No where does it say you must be logged into a Google Account (which I do not have for the purposes of designing other peoples websites).

I am going absolutely potty trying to wok this out. It keeps saying “Please configure your Google Analytics settings!”. WHen I do this and follow the instructions, inserting the code then saving the changes it just returns to the original screen and still says “Please configure your Google Analytics settings!”
Any ideas? Nothing on here seems to have worked.

I′m having same problem that EVHannah. I insert the authentication code and it’s always asking “Please configure your Google Analytics settings”. Thank you.

@diebrunetti, could you send an email containing details and screenshots to [email protected], so we can have a look at what’s happening?

Please refer to this post when sending your mail.

    Dear All,

I have the same problem as TheWordPressDude. I installed Yoast Google Analytics 5.4.5 and tried to authenticate with my Google account. I received code which I should put into proper place. When I did it nothing happened. I tried once again at this time using manual UA code. But plugin gave information, that format of code given by Google is bad. I went to Yoast website and read help. I found place when I should receive proper UA code. But once again I received nothing. I send request to Yoast support and they proposed me to go here, as my version is free. Cuold you please help me?

    Thank you a lot

I’ve run into this authentication issue with some interaction of plugins in Chrome. I’ve logged in on an incognito window and bypassed all these issues.

I use Firefox. I tried to do this on IE and nothing works. I have no idea what is wrong.

I keep getting a “Don’t miss your crawl errors: connect with Google Search Console here.” message.

But, when I follow the steps to get the Google authorization code, it says “there were no profiles found.” It looks like it’s hooking up with my google account, so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong?

    Hi everyone,

I’m having a similar problem. I just updated the plug-in after probably a couple months without administering my site and on my google analytics dashboard it tells me i need to log-in.

So, I go to Settings> Google Analytics Dashboard and it gives me the option to log in using Google’s OAuth system which is the preferred method, and below is the old authentication system which is not recommended. When I click the green “Start the login process >>” button, I’m led to a page in Google Apps Administrator that tells me:

“Sorry, this page can’t be found. This page doesn’t exist in Google Apps Administrator Help. It may be deleted because the feature doesn’t exist anymore, or the URL may be incorrect.”

When I try to authenticate the older way using my google analytics email and password, nothing happens (the Settings>Google Analytics Dashboard page reloads). I don’t have a Google Apps account (as far as I know) as developing is a bit out of my league, so I’m kind of at a loss for what to do here.

    Thanks for any help!
