I’m the only user and admin on this brand-new site. I created a “Classes” category but it will not let me apply it to any of my posts. I keep getting the following error message:

“Publishing failed. Sorry, you are not allowed to assign the provided terms.”

I tried deleting it, but it won’t allow me to. I thought maybe there was confusion because I also have a classes tag, so i tried deleting that and it says, “Sorry, you are not allowed to do that.” I’m not sure if this is a wordpress, theme, or hosting issue. Please help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Check your admin/users. From there check if you are indeed an admin. If not modify it as admin. Otherwise try creating another user with administrator rights and login to it then try deleting/ posting.

Thanks Lowell, I did all of that. No luck. I tried creating a new .htaccess file, I tried using a backup file, nothing seems to be working.

If you know how to access your database this should be under user permission. But this can get ugly and complicated if you messed up. WP database can be gnarly to deal with. Usually the htaccess error will result to site being inaccessible. If you are using a premium theme you can try to reach them if they have encountered this problem.

Appreciate your willingness to help! Thankfully the problem self-corrected overnight. Maybe the WordPress gods heard me complaining. Thank you!
