Since installing Google Site Kit, I can’t add or modify translations with Loco Translate.

When I click the Save button, I systematically get an error message : Erreur : window[“_gaUserPrefs”] = { ioo : function() { return true; } }. Vérifiez la console pour des informations de débogage.

    How do I fix that?

Thanks for reaching out. If you can share your Site Health information privately using this form we’d be happy to investigate this for you, it may require some further testing from our site.

Within the form response please share whether you’re able to successfully save when temporarily deactivating Site Kit.

If I deactivate Site Kit, will it just be “on hold”, or will I have to reconfigure anything when I reactivate it?

It would be best to troubleshoot any possible conflicts between your translation plugin and Site Kit. If you’ve used Site Kit to insert your Analytics and other snippets you will need to manually insert the product snippets via another method while Site Kit is deactivated.

We’d be happy to troubleshoot with you if you’d like to share your Site Health information using this form, with Site Kit active. After doing so please also state whether the translation plugin works with Site Kit temporarily deactivated.

Sorry, but I’m not sure what you mean by “you will need to manually insert the product snippets via another method”.

Can I (or not) temporarily deactivate Site Kit (with Anlytics and Search Console) and then simply reactivate it, or will it be more complicated than that?

In the meantime, I’ve already filled the form you asked for.

You are correct, once you reactivate Site Kit the connections will remain. It’s no problem to deactivate while checking.

Thanks for providing the additional information also, this will allow us to check for any compatibility issues. In the meantime please inform me if the same issue persists after deactivating Site Kit.

After DEactivating Site Kit, Loco Translate returns Error: /* <![CDATA[ */ if I try to Add or Modify a translation.

I noticed there is an option in Loco Translate to Upload files using AJAX. So I tried it, and it works with Site Kit REactivated.

Why would that be so? I never had to use AJAX before.

I can’t be sure, please allow some time for us to test for any compatibility issues. In the meantime did you enable minification within your WP Rocket plugin?

    Thread Starter pitaraj

    (@pitaraj)

Yes, CSS and JS file minification is enabled.

Thanks for the update. Have you tried to switch this feature off before checking once more?

    Thread Starter pitaraj

    (@pitaraj)

No, but since AJAX file format offers me a viable workaround, I would prefer to stop further tests on my side until you find out more about the issue.

@pitaraj thanks for the update. We’ll follow up as soon as we have more information.

@pitaraj I’ve been unable to recreate any issues from my side without using the minification feature of WP Rocket. Can you please temporarily deactivate this feature before checking once more from your side?

I ask as there are a lot of configurations possible with Loco Translate from what I see and any minification features can have unintended results.

    Thread Starter pitaraj

    (@pitaraj)

I deactivated both CSS minification and JS minification, and still got the
    Error : window[“_gaUserPrefs”] = { ioo : function() { return true; } }.

So, I got in touch with LocoTranslate, and they recommended that uploading files using AJAX may be the only way to resolve the apparent conflict with Google Analytics as well as other plugins.

As far as you’re concerned, you may rest assured that the problem is not due to minification.

As for myself, I will follow LocoTranslate’s recommendation and use AJAX to upload translation file modifcations.

Many thanks for the update, that’s good to know. I have a similar environment setup to your own with the same Loco Translate version. If you want to share the steps to reproduce the issue I can try and replicate from my side.

    Thread Starter pitaraj

    (@pitaraj)

    I open LocoTranslate
    I select Themes
    I select my theme
    I select language (French)
I select any untranslated segment in the English window
I provide a translation in the French window
I try to Save the new translation
I get the above-mentioned error message (which prevents the Save)
