Can't add slideshow and gallery to pages

I’m not able to add any galleries or slideshows onto my page.
Before, there used to be an icon for me to insert a slideshow/ gallery but now it disappeared.
I’ve tried manually entering the code [slideshow id=”X”] and [nggallery id=”X”] onto the text, but nothing still shows up. Is there any way to fix this?
