• I’m currently in the dashboard and not able to access the Plugins page where I can add new plugins. When I click on Plugins to the left side bar, it redirects me to the customize screen where I just see all the plugins I have. I want to be able to reset and start from scratch. Why am I not able to access the plugins page to add new plugins? I also noticed that when I go to the https://www.url.com/wp-admin, it redirects me to url.wordpress.com/wp-admin. Do I need to fix my URL to now show up the wordpress.com or doesn’t make a difference?

  • Hey kennyng,

If you’ve ftp of your site, then reach to your plugins folder( you can find it wp-content/plugins). And then rename your all the folders inside the plugins folder. You can just insert an underscore in their names. By doing this all the activated plugins of your site will be deactivated and may be this can help you. And then try to access your plugins from admin panel and also wp-admin area. If nothing happens then try to rename the .htaccess file exists at root(parallel to wp-content folder. It’s a hidden file but you see this file through ftp. After renaming that check your plugis url and wp-admin.
    Hope this can help you.

    Thanks.

So by doing this, I will have access to getting into Plugins from the admin page?

Yeah hope so!. Please try this once, and check if this is helpful. Also if you find something wrong by doing this then just revert the changes by renaming it to original names.

    Thanks

I have the same issue but do NOT have acces to ftp.

I can not add new plugins from my admin. page. It just shows Plugin and what I have but no way of adding new ones. HELP!

I have the exact same problem. I am not tech savvy. Im a drag and drop kinda guy, so “renaming” and all of that stuff will just give me a headache. I dont understand why this is happening. I have premium membership. Help please.

I can’t add any more WordPress plugins to my WordPress.com blog site. It returns a 404 page error and says I don’t have permission to use plugins or to make SEO changes on my site. Now I’m stuck, after having upgraded to All in One SEO Pack Pro. I don’t even know if I should delete my original plugin for that. Also, the 404 error page doesn’t say whether it’s due to my upgrade or changing the settings for the new plugin.
