Can’t add new posts

You have some sort of plugin causing issues. Disable whatever this “bas” plugin is.

Tried that, and I still can’t get my posts to publish…but at least the annoying header from the blog has disappeared. Tried another template, didn’t help.

Thank you for your help. I think it just hates me!

I tried deleting the last post, but that didn’t help. I have deactivated most of my plugins, but for the life of me, I don’t know what else I can do since I have’t tinkered with it at all lately.

Still no luck. This is the code for the posting, is there something glitchy here?

And no, there’s nothing glitchy there. However, you have not told us what the error actually is. The errors you gave before were due to some plugin. What kind of problems are you experiencing now?

I thought perhaps a line might have gotten corrupted and I couldn’t see it. That’s why I posted — out of frustration.

The problem is this: I write a post — and it doesn’t matter if I click “save” “save and continue editing” or “publish” — the post does not publish or save. It disappears like I never wrote anything.

I have deactivated every single plugin — nothing I do helps. I erased the previous entry, thinking it was causing a problem, no change. I changed the theme in case — nothing helps. I don’t tinker or play around with the code. It just happened. I have another blog (identical version of WP via Yahoo) and there is no problem publishing my posts to the web with that blog.

So I am completely confused because this problem came out of nowhere and it is not going away. I can’t post anything because none of the posts get published — and if I have no posts, I have no blog.

You’re using a very old version of WordPress, aren’t you? Because WP no longer has those three buttons (it’s down to only two now).

I recommend upgrading to a recent version. We don’t do very well supporting old versions of the software around here.

Make a full backup before upgrading, of course. This is very, very important. Have a copy of your database safe and sound before even attempting an upgrade.

Otto, I don’t think that’s the version issue. You see it’s not just her having that problem, from what I’ve seen in forums it’s many of us not being able to update posts and publish new ones lately.

I was also using a “very” old version, didn’t want to update, and when this problem happened I thought, OK, let’s update, so now I run the latest wordpress, but the problem is still there. Could it be some kind of database security issue, something with our hosting provider? Cause I haven’t changed anything, and from what I noticed others also haven’t, but all of the sudden, boom…. you cannot do anything… just a blank page with no error or anything when trying to save a post or publish a new one.

turcanunet: There’s not enough information to make any sort of guess as to what the cause of the problem could be. Could be anything.

However, if it was working and then stopped working, then something changed. That’s a given. Things don’t happen for no reason.

Also, I didn’t say upgrading would fix the problem, just that we don’t support old versions very well around here.

I just don’t understand why my second blog is problem-free with the version I have, and not this one.

And I have not changed a thing with mine. It was one post published just fine, and then the ones after didn’t. It happened the same time I was havng a problem with the BASStats. I fixed the one problem and not the other.

Because there is no guarantee upgrading will solve the problem, I am now shopping around for alternative server and blog.
