Yeah. This doesn’t work. There’s not much point if you can’t add fiction. lol. When you click on “add new fiction” it just jumps to the home page. There’s a glitch in your system, it doesn’t work with WP 4.0.

Now if this would work properly I would definitely consider upgrading to Premium down the road as well as getting the add-ons you offer. Too bad this doesn’t work.

    Hi there,

Did you create the page with the shortcode for adding fanfic?
Can you post urls here? If you choose not to, then email me at myfandoms at gmail for us to look at it.

Add fanfic works like a charm, and we’ll get yours working, too. There’s just a setting that is off and needs a fix. We’ll find it.

    (@kiratakenouchi)

We got it to work!!!! We just didn’t understand the whole post slug thing and that you had to create a page that matched the slug in the settings. Thrilled. I’m sure we’ll look to upgrade down the road and also we’ll be interested in the add-ons once we get the site going. It’s brand new right now and will be part of a much bigger site. Great job, sorry we didn’t understand how to work it.

No problem at all! Feel free to contact me at any time with questions.

We are having a couple glitches. If you do a search, it brings back a page not found error. Same thing if you click on the author, it goes to a page not found. We removed the story search, is there anything we can do about the authors? They seem to be linking to a page outside our archive, e.g., our domain is kiratakenouchi.com/scribesportal/ and they are linking to something in kiratakenouchi.com/ so of course it is coming back with an error. I tried sticking “scribesportal” in the address to see if, just adding that, it would go to the right place, but it still brought back an error “page not found”.

There is a link on the dashboard for Author Pages but when we configure it, we cannot get the Directory set up. Is this not part of the Basic?

Another question. How seamless will this be if we upgrade to your Premium in terms of saving stories and authors that have already been entered? Or will we have to start over?

    Thread Starter kiratakenouchi

    (@kiratakenouchi)

Another question about the Author plugin — does that work with the Basic or do you need the Premium first for it to work?

    Answering in order…

    1. Search problem
Story search should be working just fine. Have you set up the plugin Widgets On Pages?
Install and activate the Widgets on Pages plugin. Then
Widgets > Widgets on Pages > Drag WP FFWA Story Search to here
    Create your search page
Use the shortcode [widgets_on_pages] on that page
Go to Settings > Widgets on Pages> put a check in the box for Enable styling (remove bullets etc) SAVE. This gets rid of annoying bullet on the search page.

If you’ve done all that, then this is a multisite setting. It seems you’re multisite, yes?
For multisite admin should use the plugin called: “wordpress mu domain mapping”.

    After setting up that plugin:
disable “Redirect administration pages to site’s original domain (remote login disabled if this redirect is disabled)” on wp-admin/network/settings.php?page=dm_admin_page that page.
    (4th option of “Domain Options”)

    2. Author
Dashboard > Tools > Settings > Author Pages won’t work without the author plugin.

    3. Seamless. We’ll walk you through it. We’ll also suggest you sign up for a free Blogvault.net account and back up your site prior to the upgrading. It’s just good practice. We love their service – we back up all our sites with them.

    4. Author plugin and Favorites plugin both work with basic – no need to buy premium unless you want to change the site labels for a non-fanfic archive, run ads within your stories, etc. Most fanfic sites will only need basic.

Ihttps://kiratakenouchi.com/scribesportal/fiction-fanfiction/ Hey look at you with 50 stories already!

Do you mean to not use the front end posting to the fanfic archive that comes with our basic plugin? This looks like it’s not posting to the archive. If you need help configuring the front end post, let me know.

Argh. I just purchased the Author Profile stuff but I can’t access the instructions on how to set it up, it sends you to a page that says the content is restricted to those who have purchased it?? I used Paypal to purchase it so not this email/account, so this account doesn’t have a record of my purchase. I’m able to download the files…just not the instructions.

    Thread Starter kiratakenouchi

    (@kiratakenouchi)

Okay, yes, this is a multisite but that plug-in confused me, so I will have to study it a little more before I install it. We did install the Widgets on Pages. So are you saying we have to have this multi-site plug-in order for the Story Search to work, then?

I forget why we put the Post New Story on the menu. We took it off. It’s working fine on the dashboard.

Yes at https://www.kiratakenouchi.com – that was art I commissioned for my Taming Riki series. We’re waiting to finish all the different areas of the site before we officially open it to the public. RIght now I have a group of Elite “Honorary Blondies” lol who are in the site behind the scenes and they are the ones posting most of the stories.

By the way the name I purchased the Author Profiles was L Lykins for Paypal – it’s my real name. Kira Takenouchi is just a pen name.

Crap. Now I have a fatal error:

Fatal error: Class ‘WP_WRITING_FAVORITES_Updater’ not found in /home/content/35/8779735/html/kiratakenouchi/scribesportal/wp-content/plugins/wp-fanfiction-writing-archive-author-profiles/main.php on line 60

Well apparently you can’t use the dashboard to install the plugin….

    Plugin Author AOS

    (@fandoment)

The premium plugins are at: https://writing-archive.com/
Setup instructions for Author Profile: https://writing-archive.com/setup-instructions/wp-ffwa-author/ I can email it to you if you need, or I can change your email address on your account so you can access the forum for premium support.

Yes, you can use the dashboard to install the plugin. I’ve done so on all my sites.

Email me at myfandoms at gmail.com since this is now a combo of premium support and plugin support. We’ll get this straightened out. Both search and the author plugin are really straightforward, so I’m sure this will be a quick fix.

    Plugin Author AOS

    (@fandoment)

This is resolved. They’re all set up, and we’ve made 2 updates to 2 plugins.

This plugin doesn’t work. It keeps sending me to the listing page. How do I add a new fiction? And I did read the earlier posts it doesn’t help at all.
