• Since I updated to WP 3.8 I am having issues with adding images and also with making changes to menus. Pages that previously loaded fine are now 404. (See https://www.westcoast-east.com/handbag-styles/).

When I try to add images to a product the image library does not appear. If I add it from the edit page, the images do not attach. When I try to fix the menu, I choose a page and the update to the menu just spins and doesn’t link.

I’ve gone on to the forum to research this and made a change to the wp-config.php page (for the problem people were experiencing in 3.5) to concantenate the script with no success.

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

Yes. Same problems in Twenty Fourteen

Can we see the site using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

I’ve switched it back to Twenty Fourteen theme with plugins deactivated. When I try to change the menu all I get is the spinning wheel. And my library does not appear when I try to add an image.

    Thanks for your assistance!

Your site is still not using the 2014 theme.

It looks like Twenty Fourteen on my browser in Firefox and Safari. The header and sidebar are black. I don’t think I can send you a screen shot, but when I go into my dashboard, Twenty Fourteen is activated and Artificer is deactivated.

Yes your website is using 2014 theme.

Also your domain has one 404 error, this link:

Erase your browser cache and try again. If this is not going to work, login to your server cPanel administration open phpmyadmin go to your site’s database, click on it, select all the tables then click repair table.

If still doesn’t work, try updating again the installation of wordpress from wordpress admin. (I’ll try this first of all…)

Thank you for your suggestions. The support team for my hosting company has made the following observation:

    Hi Gail,

Is the issue you’re seeing when you go to the product pages a blank page? This is what I’m seeing and there are some entries in the error log that seem to be the culprit

    [Thu Dec 19 03:27:25 2013] [error] [client 72.74.52.237] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_checkout_url() on a non-object in /nas/wp/www/cluster-1198/gacarrigan/wp-content/themes/artificer/includes/theme-woocommerce.php on line 99, referer: https://www.westcoast-east.com/handbag-styles/

Both of these errors are being generated by the theme and are likely a new problem to 3.8. Since there doesn’t appear to be an update for the theme available, you will want to contact the developer to get this resolved.

So my next step is working with Woo Themes and Woo Commerce to resolve this problem.

I have the same problem than gacarrigan have. I can make changes to my menu but it takes about minute or two to open the window. I tried also add image to one widget and opening the media library takes about one minute.

I have re-update WP 3.8. but it doesn’t help. I have deactivate and activate all plugins and switch theme to TwetyFourteen and back to my theme and problems still going.

The theme switching brokes my widgets and I needed to fix them back. I am usein Responsive theme white child theme.

The only thing what I haven′t done yet is repair the database. My database is really big and I need to be careful with that.
