Can’t add agents – WP Admin loses role

Hi, I am currently trying to figure out the issue on my site regarding registering new agents. When I attempt to register a new agent, two things happen. One, the new agent is not created, and two the admin account loses it’s administrator role and gets set to rem_property_agent role.

Troubleshooting steps performed:

1) Removed possible conflicting plugins (user role manager, multiple account login)

2) Verified that my test users are not using the same email address as administrator account.

3) Verified that auto account activation emails have been received at test email account.

4) Verified that anyone can register checkbox is active and also default user role is set to property agent.

To reset the admin role, I have to go into phpmyadmin and edit the administrator account. Obviously I shouldn’t have to do this, so I’m stumped as to why the new users are not being created.

I’m using the Benaa real estate theme with the latest version of the plugin. Any other suggestions would be most appreciated.
