Can’t Add Admin Email Addresses

Since updating to 1.12.24 I no longer have the ability to add Admin email addresses for the people I want to receive particular form responses.
Previously I had the + icon and could add an email address, now all I get is the grid icon at the end to insert a placeholder but even that does not add anything to the list of email addresses.
I have checked the userguide that still shows the + icon and not the placeholder one, so what am I missing?
