can't add a new page

  • hi.
    for some reason, when i try to add new page to my site i get an error message:

    Server error
    The website encountered an error while retrieving https://www.backyard.co.il/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=page. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Reload this web page later.
    HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

    any ideas why this is happening and how can i solve it ?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    I have exactly the same problem. my site url is https://allaboutedu.com/
    I am not able to add new pages or posts on the website. It says Internal server 500 error. Earlier the error happened for loading a few pages and then that got fixed automatically and now i am unable to create any new pages. i already tried deactivating the plugins method but its not helping. i am not a coder so please give advice that laymen can apply.
    i am using the zee business theme and have about 20 active plugins installed.

    I would suggest you to keep your wordpress version updated.
    Have you done anything with .htaccess file, I am sure you will have to deal with that if you are getting ISE – 500
