I purchased a 1yr 1 site license today and I have received the license key via email. When I check the FAQs, it tells me to navigate to the Webyx settings and drop the license key there. I do not see a form input to paste the license key into? I have two accordions on the settings page: “Webyx Menu” and “Hide WP Admin Top Bar”. Please advise.

    Hi @digital-ninja ,

thank you for contacting us and for sustaining us with your patronage.

We think that you are trying to put the Pro activation key in the Free version: that is not possible because they are two different products and not one the extension of the other.

You need to download the Pro .zip file from where you bought it, install it on WordPress and in the WFG Pro Settings you will find the field where to put your unique activation key and the button to activate it.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at:

    [email protected]

we will be more than happy to help.

Here is a YouTube video where you can see this activation:

If I do as you describe, will I start from scratch? I have been using the free version to play around with the plug-in and I have quite a bit of content in there right now. Starting over would mean asking for a refund. Thanks for the reply and instructions…

In Gutenberg it is possible to copy-paste the Sections you have already created, in the new Pro block.

You will need to set Plugin options/settings if you have choose something different from those given by default and you will need to copy-paste any custom code (CSS for example) inserted in the Custom CSS field from the free to the pro one.

Shouldn’t be a too difficult task.

If you need further advices, please write to us at the [email protected] that is for the Pro version requests.

    Let us know,

Well… that’s not good. As a matter of fact, it’s going to be a horrible, time consuming task. Respectfully, you should consider calling that barrier out on the site (can’t directly upgrade from free version to pro)…

I’d prefer to post here so “free” users learn from this dialog. I’ll start the refund process. Thanks.

We are sorry to hear that, but thank you nonetheless for pointing this out: we thought it was crystal clear that the free version was a product while the pro version was another product.

We will surely add a more clear note on the plugin that the Webyx for Gutenberg Pro is not the same as Webyx for Guteberg Free. Our bad.

Contact us at the support email above for the process.

    Best regards,

Just a quick update on this for others out there that might be interested in this topic…
I am sticking with the paid version. It was surprising to learn, I couldn’t just pick up the work by transitioning straight from free to pro, it hasn’t been toooo bad.

    What I’ve learned:

You can add a Webyx Pro block to a page that already contains a Webyx Free block. Previewing a page with both Pro and Free results in constant thinking (endless rotator). But, you can begin to migrate from Free to Pro on the same page.

I had trouble copying a Webyx “Section” from the free block to the paid block on the same Page. However, I could copy a Section (and the Slides that Section contained) from one Webyx Free block (page A) to a Webyx Pro block on a different page (page B).

While this is indeed time consuming and mildly frustrating, I still believe the Webyx plugin is worth it. If you’re leaning towards the Pro version, go ahead and jump in. It may save you some time down the road.

Thank you so much @digital-ninja for your kind words.

Just here to say to everyone that thanks to @digital-ninja ‘s commitment, the Team has decided to work for the next future on something automatic to let users migrate from one version to another: we have to think about it.

We hope you will enjoy your Pro version… and it’s only the beginning! We are about to release a new quick update for it and we are working on something extra cool.

    Stay tuned.
