Can’t activate plugins after upgrade

  • I pressed the automatic upgrade button, then tried to manually and then automatically add a plugin.

    I have tried uploading the plugin to both folders but wordpress isn’t recognising it.

    When I do this automatically I am told that it can’t copy the plugin readme.txt.

    My original plugin folder is in wp-content, but I have noticed that I now have another plugin folder within the following : wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-2.8.6/wordpress/wp-content/plugins

    Can anyone help me out of this confusion?
