    Hi, hope you have a suggestion how to get around this error. Installing the plugin works fine. When attempting to activate I get this message:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/72/4630772/html/wp-content/plugins/gravity-forms-first-data-global-gateway-addon/php-first-data-api/src/VinceG/FirstDataApi/FirstData.php on line 2

    Here are the particulars for the website:
    WP = 4.0
    Gravity Forms = 1.8.17
    Avada Theme v3.5.1

    I didn’t see anyone else mention this here on the WP support, GitHub, Trello or your dev website.

    Would appreciate your suggestions what to do.
    Thanks in advance.

    This would be an outright bug, but I also agree that it’s strange that it hasn’t been reported anywhere else. Did you try deleting the plugin files and re-installing via the Plugins page in wp-admin?

    Hi

    I am facing the same issue during plugin activation, do you have a solution for it?

    Did you try deactivating your other plugins?

    No i did not try that. But i tried reinstalling this plugin and I noticed the same error!
    Could this be because of the php version? What is the desired php version required for this plugin to work.

    Let me know how deactivating the other plugins goes. It very well could be the version too. Requires the latest version.

    Aubrey: Sorry to not reply sooner to my original post. I was never able to get it working on that particular web site. I did go thru the suggested steps of deactivating all plugins, unfortunately didn’t work. Tested deleting this plugin via the WP Admin as well as deleting the folder and reinstalling fresh several times.
    I tried again a week ago without success.

    For reference, here are the current specs for that one:
    Hosted on a GoDaddy Deluxe Linux shared server
    PHP = 5.2.17
    MySQL = 5.0.96
    WP = 4.1
    Gravity Forms plugin = 1.8.17
    Avada Theme v3.5.1

    The live site is very active throughout the day/eve so I can’t really test on it without affecting visitors user experience. I haven’t had a chance to set up a development version on that GD server to try debugging further.

    Hope this is helpful for you, Aubrey and Nands.

    Aubrey: Sorry for late reply. Deactivating all plugins did not work either.
    I am currently having php version 5.2, Are there any chances of the upgrade resulting in crash ?

    It might also be your PHP version, see https://github.com/aubreypwd/gravityforms-firstdata/issues/20

    I am trying to get funding to fix the plugin and push out a new release, check out https://www.gofundme.com/gffde4

    Hi – if I’m reading these posts correctly, then the plugin is broken until you get some funding together to fix it?

    (@aubreypwd)

    Correct because the whole plugin really needs updated.
