Is there anyone else having this problem with the latest version?

I’ve tried a bunch of stuff without any success, either the I get the Admin to work and nit the blog front end, or I can get the blog front end going but can’t access the Admin…. what a SNAFU!

    Any suggestions… thanks.

  • Try re-uploading the wp-includes folder from a fresh download of WP 2.8.5.

Well, no go…. tried upping a copy of the wp-includes folder from a fresh copy of WP 2.8.5.

    DIDN”T WORK… AAAARG!

This is very frustrating…. very frustrating.

Looks like I may have to do a complete re-install… I guess?

This is my first foray into WordPress, I must say that I’m impressed and disappointed all in the same breath. I shake my head…

Thanks anyway man…. ciao for now!

Is anyone else having this problem, I need some suggestions here.

I can’t get this resolved… do I re-install or is there another way of getting this thing fixed?

    HELP!!!

Was it working at one point? Did you move WP after the initial installation?

Yes it was working great when I installed and after the upgrade to the latest version.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I’ve tried a new FTP program too, Cyberduck.

I have an old PC here, I’m going to try FTPing from that to see if it the platform I’m on…(MAC)…. who know?

I can’t see why it should matter but at this point it’s a matter of pure frustration, and I just want an answer as to why this crap is happening…!

It’s not a problem with the FTP client or your platform … it’s most likely the arrangement of the files on your server. If things are not where they’re supposed to be, you get an error like that. Check to make sure that all the WP files (and folders) are in the right spots in relation to each other. For instance, where is wp-config.php?

    Hi,

Everything is in the wordpress folder, the wp-config.php sits in the wordpress folder:

    /userweb/gt/wordpress

gt is the root folder for the web site. Gettingtechnical.com

    Thanks….

    also,

If you want to see the front end…

    thanks!

Any plugins installed? If so, have you tried resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin?

    Tried it… no go…!

What kind of server is the site running on – Linux or Windows? What’s in your WP .htaccess file? Any .htaccess files in the root folder?
