Hi – I updated to the latest plugin version earlier today, and did not make any other changes to the plugin settings. After doing some work on my site, I received the usual notice to log back in (I have included that requirement after a set amount of time in the AIOWS settings). However, when that happened today, when I try to log back in I just keep getting the following message:

“Your session has expired because it has been over 240 minutes since your last login. Please log back in to continue.”

I’ve tried repeatedly with the same result. Normally if I have issues with the plugin, I just disable the plugin via FTP (by adding “temp” to the end of the folder name) and then I can login without issue. However, when I tried that today, I’m getting the following error:

wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/classes/wp-security-process-renamed-login-page.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in <filepath>

So it looks like despite the plugin being disabled via FTP, WP is still looking for the renamed login page. When I try to access my normal login page that I use when the plugin is activated, I get a 404 error.

I’ve run out of ideas, so if anyone has any suggestions for how to fix this, I’d greatly appreciate the help ??

    Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a totally different browser?

First try with a different browser whilst the aiowps dir has been renamed.

If that doesn’t work, try renaming the plugin back to original and then try logging in with a different browser.

Also if you have some kind of caching plugin, delete all caches.

Hi – I cleared my browser cache, tried another browser, and also tried logging in on my phone (in case the issue was somehow IP-related) — all without luck ??

It’s interesting that when I rename the plugin folder and try logging in using the normal wp-admin login page, the url redirects back to an “aiowps_login_msg_id=session_expired” URL (along with giving me a 404 error). This happened on each of the browsers I tried

I’m not using a caching plugin, so that’s not the issue

After digging around in the support forum, I also deleted everything AIOWS-related from the htaccess file. Still had issues in the first two browsers I tried (it was still redirecting to my renamed login page with the “aiowps_login_msg_id=session_expired” tacked at the end of the URL). Decided to try a forth browser and for some reason it worked there and I was able to get in and delete the plugin entirely. Will try setting it back up and let you know if I have any issues

    Thanks for your help ??

Just a heads-up that when I tried to reinstall 4.0.6 (a fresh install), I started getting the same errors I described above. So I reverted back to a previous version from back-up files. That appears to be working fine, so the issue seems to be 4.0.6-related

Hi are you still having issues?

Hi – thanks for checking back in. I just tried updating to 4.0.6 again and everything seems to be working correctly.

Please note that prior to updating I had turned off the force logout option that I had previously set-up which seems to be what triggered the issues I described above. I’ll keep you posted if I encounter any further issues

Thanks again for your awesome plugin!!

Thank you for reporting back. I will mark this support thread as resolved since version 4.0.6 is now working on your site.

If run into another issue please open up a new support thread

    Thank you
