Can’t access wp-admin / Dashboard

    I can no longer access my site’s admin and dashboard from my host (Bluehost) or directly.

    What I was trying to do:
    I recently transferred my domain from WIX to Bluehost and from a video tutorial, I was trying to change my url so it would show my domain name instead of “box2287…”. I ended up changing the site URL and wordpress URL.

    What’s happing now:
    Can’t reach the site of course but I don’t even see my site being listed when I log into Bluehost. I don’t even see the “Log into WordPress” button upon visit.

    What i’ve tried:
    I’ve read that this is rookie mistake and that you can revert back from going into wp-options from the cPanel and editing the site url and home. I’ve tried this but it has had no effect for me. I’ve double checked spelling (after copying and pasting from history in browser), tried omitting/including “https://” and backslash at the end of url.

    When I try to access my site from WordPress.com under homepage or “My Admin”, it will give me a 404 (My Admin) or it will take a full minute then load an HTML-only version of my homepage (to which, all links points to 404 as well).

    I’m not sure exactly where the fail point is as I’ve read that adjusting the cPanel, wp-options normally fixes this issue. Some direction is greatly appreciated.

    Do you have a full backup?

    How did you make the transfer? When you say that you can’t reach the site, you mean that it is not loading at all right? Is your new domain currently working?

    Hi.

    I have a backup of my site yes.

    For the transfer, I obtained the Authorization Code from Wix and initiated it through Bluehost. It took about 5 days and actually worked at the start before I changed the URLs.

    The new domain does technically work (sorry I wasn’t clear), but it directs me to a HTML version of my homepage with no css and none of the links point anywhere (404).

    When I try adding /wp-admin to either the old domain or the new one, it stalls then eventually redirects to that same HTML homepage.

    I’ve contacted my host and they took care of the issue.

    Glad it was resolved.
