Can’t access WP-Admin – blank white screen

  • Hello World. I sold a website to a client of mine, and I’m trying to get into his WP-Admin for the site to change a few things. But when I go to the site, all I get is a blank white screen. The login box doesn’t show up at all. I don’t even get an error message. The site is hosted on Host Excellence (my client chose this). Everything worked fine for my HostGator clients. Not sure if this is the host or not. Please help – he needs to get into the WP-Admin.

    Suffered from dreaded white screen when trying to log into admin page. Reset passwords several times. Renamed plugins via FTP, change passwords several times, but now get the following set of warnings when I try to log in.

    What is going on??

    My issue was the blank white screen after I logged in. I put the plugins back in one by one. As soon as I put in the next-gen gallery plugin then I have the blank white screen. I’d really like to have that plugin. Any ideas on where I can go from here? Thanks!

    I just wanted to chime in here. Not all Admin area blank pages are caused by bad plugins. I experienced the blank wall after upgrading from 2.5 and then trying to log into /wp-admin/

    My plugins were fine, but I had modified my custom theme’s functions.php file to register a new side bar. Per clickit’s post (4ish) I had an extra set of <?php ?> tags that caused my admin area to crash.

    @leah….did you try the support forum for the gallery plugin?
