I cannot access Jetpack on my WP admin. All I see is a blank page. I can see the site stats page but it show 0 traffic for the last week.
I did see this error on the debug page:
Your url is set as yogabxxxxx.com/, but your WordPress.com connection lists it as yogabxxxxx.com/! which doesn’t make any sense if they are supposed to be the same.
I deactivated the plugin and reactivated and now when I click “set up jetpack” I get error “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.”

Please advise

Hi @yogabasics

I made a change on our end. Would you please disconnect and then reconnect Jetpack? You can follow these instructions to do that:

1. Go to the Jetpack menu in your WP Admin dashboard
2. Scroll down to find the *Connections* area.
3. Click *Manage site connection*.
4. Click **Disconnect** and follow the prompts to complete the disconnection process.
5. Click **Set Up Jetpack** button to connect your site to WordPress.com again.

This handy guide explains the full process in more detail:

I am seeing the “set up Jetpack” button already. I deactivated and reactivated the plugin and then clicked the “set up Jetpack” button again but I still get the same error “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.”

I was able to deactivate via wordpress.com but I’m still getting the same error when trying to reactivate

Hi @yogabasics

Thanks for the update.

Can you try these steps to clear the Jetpack options from your database?

1. Go to Jetpack in your site’s dashboard.
2. Disconnect from Jetpack if it says that you are connected on the Jetpack page.
2. Deactivate Jetpack on your Plugins page
3. Install and activate this plugin to remove the Jetpack data from your database: https://github.com/automattic/jetpack-addons/archive/add/jp-rm-options.zip
4. Check to make sure this plugin is now deactivated and deleted from your site, since it performed its job.
5. Try to re-activate and connect to Jetpack again.

Let us know how that goes.

Ok I followed your instructions. That plugin dissapeared after I activated it…not sure if that is expected behaviour or not?
I re-activated and when I tried to connect to Jetpack I get same error “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.”

The plugin should not disappear, but you won’t see it anywhere except in your plugins list. Once activated, it automatically removes the Jetpack options from the database, and then you should deactivate and delete the plugin.

If that’s not helping, there may be something else installed on the site that’s causing problems. The quickest way to figure out if something is interfering is to test for a theme or plugin conflict.

I know it’s less than ideal, but could you please try the following:

– Temporarily deactivate all the site’s plugins except for Jetpack and clear your browser’s cache.
– Then try reconnecting again. If it works, then we’ll know that another plugin is conflicting here. You can re-enable your plugins one by one, trying reconnecting in between, until you find the one causing the conflict. You can leave it disabled or reach out to the plugin developer for a fix.

If disabling plugins doesn’t help, it may be the theme.

– Temporarily switch your theme to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty. Then try reconnecting again. If it works, then you know it’s a problem with the theme, and you can reach out to the theme developer for a fix.

Let us know how that goes.

Ok I’m using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to do as you instructed. So in troubleshooting mode I have all plugins deactivated and a default theme selected and when I enable Jetpack I get error “When enabling the plugin, jetpack, a site failure occurred. Because of this the change was automatically reverted.”

Hi @yogabasics,

Thanks for trying that. It sounds like there might be something corrupted or missing from your present Jetpack installation.

Please delete Jetpack entirely from your Plugins page, then reinstall it fresh. Then, try reconnecting Jetpack to WordPress.com.

Let us know how it goes!

Ok I deleted Jetpack and then reinstalled it and activated it. When I tried to connect to Jetpack I get same error “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.”
I also tested in troubleshooting mode and get the same result.

I see that your site appears to be behind CloudFlare (a CDN and DDoS protection service), which may be contributing to this issue.

Please refer to the following guides to make sure Cloudflare is set up to work with Jetpack:

https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/configure-jetpack-cloudflare/
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/218377098-WordPress-JetPack-and-Cloudflare

If that doesn’t help, can you please try pausing CloudFlare as described here while you try to connect Jetpack?

https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/203118044#h_8654c523-e31e-4f40-a3c7-0674336a2753

After you’ve paused it, try connecting Jetpack again to see if the issue persists.

I added settings to my config file and updated Cloudflare page rules according those docs and tried to activate again and got the same error. I disabled Cloudflare and tried again, and still getting the same error.

Thanks for trying. At this point it appears something else may be blocking the connection.

I would suggest contacting your host and explaining that we are unable to access your blog via cURL, which is needed in order to use Jetpack on your site.

You can pass this information onto them:

1. We checked for access to your site’s xmlrpc.php via browser.

That test returned a Cloudflare page, which shouldn’t be a problem if you have Cloudflare configured correctly, but I’d still recommend keeping it paused until you have a working Jetpack connection.

2. We checked via cURL by running the following command from the terminal:

curl -A “Jetpack by WordPress.com” -is -H ‘Content-Type: text/xml’ –data ‘<?xml version=”1.0″?><methodCall><methodName>demo.sayHello</methodName><params></params></methodCall>’ ‘https://YOURSITE/xmlrpc.php’ && echo

The cURL test returned a 403 Forbidden error.

Please provide this information above to your host so they can correct the server settings and allow cURL access.
