    Hello Everyone,

I tried to redirect a domain name to a new site, and now I can’t access my site or my back page. “The site is experiencing technical difficulties.” is shown when I try to go to my page. And when I try to go to my admin page “Can’t find the server” appears. It is trying to go here: https://www.bikelagrave.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fjciidun.cluster028.hosting.ovh.net%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

I just started with WordPress. My host is OVH, and I had no troubles in the initial set-up of the website: https://jciidun.cluster028.hosting.ovh.net
I was hoping to use a domain name I own through Squarespace, where I initially set-up a website. However, the domain is locked for 60 days and can’t be transferred (about 50 days remain), but I was told I could point it to the new site. Since I couldn’t transfer the domain, I was trying to point it to my new WordPress site.

Within Squarespace, I edited the DNS records of what I found on the new site which was the A(IP) and TXT records. I couldn’t find a nameserver for OVH so I left that as is (from what I understood, Squarespace will update that automatically).
After that, I went to my admin page on the new site and changed within my settings both the public and admin to bikelagrave.com
Since I did that I can’t access my site.
What did I do wrong, and can I fix it?
If I manually input the namerserver could that help? But I can’t find it if so…
Many thanks in advance for helping this novice.

Your DNS record does not have any A record right now. Try setting it again. It may take up to a couple days for DNS changes to propagate throughout the Internet, depending on the TTL value. Is your OVH account already setup to use your bikelagrave domain name? If not, it needs to be added so the OVH server can direct traffic to your part of their server.

You are correct, the squarespace nameservers will work OK as long as they are still your domain registrar. You should find out what nameservers OVH recommends you use before you transfer your domain registration.

I thought the IP address I put in is the A record?

Maybe you did, but DNS servers are reporting the field to be empty.

If you’re sure you set the A record correctly, you’re going to need assistance from Squarespace support to get it properly set for you.
