I’m totally unable to get onto my WordPress site.

I’m operating on a Mac mini with OS 10.6.5. My website URL is https://stevebeckow.com. I use Firefox, but I’ve also tried with Safari. I get a timeout error message on my site. This timeout does not happen with any other site I try to access.

I got onto my site briefly when I went in through my Netbook and deactivated all the plug-ins but when I began to activate them I was booted off the website again and couldn’t get back on from my Netbook either.

I did a traceroute on it through Mac Terminal and found that the connection broke down at my ISP server (Telus.net). Here is an excerpt:

    3 173.182.196.2 (173.182.196.2) 10.066 ms 11.110 ms 10.549 ms
    4 * * *
    5 * * *

I called my server (Mediatemple.net) and they said

“You called in today because you cannot connect to stevebeckow.com. While on the phone, I was able to connect to your site, and view the WordPress login page. Since you were still unable to connect, I assisted you with running a “traceroute” using terminal. The traceroute command discovered that your requests are not making it to our servers. The IP packets are being lost when they hit the 173.182.196.2 IP address. This IP address is under the control of your ISP, TELUS Communications. I recommend you contact TELUS Communications Inc. and advise them that they have a routing issue. You will need to provide them with the results of the two traceroutes we performed.”

But my ISP denies that it has anything to do with them.

Can anyone help me to sort out what might be happening?

    Many thanks,

    Steve Beckow

OK, my Internet Service Provider, Telus.net, refreshed my IP lease and that solved the problem.

    Thank you,

    Steve
