(To be honest, I can’t remember if I updated to WP 4.4 the other day or not)

    Here’s the issue:
For some reason I get an error message when trying to do admin stuff on my site. Somehow, I still seem to be logged in as admin on my browser (i.e. I see the “howdy, admin” and other WP stuff at the top of my site) BUT when I go to dropdown at the top left to access the dashboard, I get the error message below. I get the same error message when I close the browser and attempt to access the site at the admin login page (www.mydoctorsmedicalrecord/wp-admin):

Warning: require_once(/home/hipaat/public_html/myDoctorsMedicalRecord.com/wp-admin/includes/options.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/hipaat/public_html/myDoctorsMedicalRecord.com/wp-admin/includes/admin.php on line 44

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/hipaat/public_html/myDoctorsMedicalRecord.com/wp-admin/includes/options.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/hipaat/public_html/myDoctorsMedicalRecord.com/wp-admin/includes/admin.php on line 44

Please help! I was able to access the site’s admin stuff a few days ago, when I installed BackupBuddy.

  • Having a similar problem. When I try to go to the admin control panel, I get a 500 server error.

    Help!

I cannot access my dashboard. I sign into my admin and get nothing but a grey screen. I have read other posts and people mention changing the theme etc. however I do not have access to anything to do anything? Help ??

same issue – did an update to 4.4.
It got stuck – so I deleted .maintenance from the wordpress folder and now can’t access admin, although the site is up.

I had to manually update wordpress and now it’s working

Alright, this is a clue for some people, thank you.

Warning: require_once(/home/hipaat/public_html/myDoctorsMedicalRecord.com/wp-admin/includes/options.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory

if you get a message like this after attempting an upgrade, your upgrade most likely timed out before all files were copied. If all the wordpress files are not there, wordpress will not work.

    Solutions:
    (1) try the upgrade again and hope it won’t time out.
    (2) do a manual upgrade
(30 ask your host to allow your upgrade to run longer.

Thanks @ublac – will have to try this. I’m not a techie, though, so wish me luck!

Thanks @juggledad – not sure how to do the upgrade again when I can’t access my dashboard, but will try to do it manually, following the instructions in the link (thanks).

I had the same problem. I deleted only the wp-admin folder and replaced it with another one from a fresh WP download. It worked.
    Hope this helps.
