can't access flash-based media uploader

  • Q: Are there WP files where bad permissions settings would cause me to not have access to the flash uploader?

    I’ve got several WP sites, hosted by two different hosting companies. The sites on one company’s servers work fine; I can upgrade using the auto WP link, upgrade plugins, and use the flash media uploader.

    On the other server however, it’s a different story. I can only upgrade plugins and WP upgrades manually. On one WP site on this server, I can use the flash browser, but not on another WP installation. I’m thinking this is a permissions problem, but tech support for this hosting company blames WP (of course), as everything works properly when they try it on their installations.
