Don’t be scared. Take a deep breath and let’s start.
1.Did you download the latest WordPress ? If you did, unzip the file.
2. On your server, delete all files except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php!
3.From your freshly downloaded (and unzipped) files, copy wp-admin and wp-include folder and all files in the root of wordpress folder (from index to xmplrpc) and paste them onto your server.Or you can drag/drop them if using filezilla.
Once again, do not replace the wp-content folder and do not delete wp-config.php.

Yes, you have to copy those files to your computer. Isn’t there a copy or save option (instead of just move)?
To be honest, it would be much easier if you could use Filezilla but..

Ok, Downloaded the latest wordpress and unzipped it so far.

Shouldn’t i make a copy of the website first like u suggested? If so, let me know how to do that!

YES! U have to backup everything first. Thought you already did that.
Check this on how to backup everything. So you need to backup all your files AND the database.

I am backing up the database now.

Also please make sure you get all your existing files too. Backing up both your files and database is the best safety net you can have.
