• I had the free theme ‘Mystique’ install on my domain and I wanted to get rid of the date being shown on my blog so I went to edit the date and must have deleted something else by mistake.

Now I can’t access my site. Everytime I try to go to the admin part of my wordpress blog only a white screen shows up and when I try to access the site itself I get this:

Warning: require(/home/brittles/public_html/housesforsaleinhamburgny.com/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/brittles/public_html/housesforsaleinhamburgny.com/wp-settings.php on line 21

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/brittles/public_html/housesforsaleinhamburgny.com/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/brittles/public_html/housesforsaleinhamburgny.com/wp-settings.php on line 21

I can’t fix it unless I can get access to the admin part of my site and I can’t access it.

What can I do to fix this without having to start my site from scratch?

Keep in mind I have no html or css or whatever you want to call it knowledge.

  • Using FTP (or your hosting account’s file manager), delete the Mystique Theme folder in \wp-content\themes\; this will cause your site to revert to the default Theme (Twenty Eleven), and should restore access to your site.
