• Our blog at https://www.azam.info (hosted at https://www.azam.net/azam/ ) was working perfectly for months and months and has now suddenly stopped working. We haven’t changed a single thing for weeks related to this blog and its files, including editing any file, adding or removing any plugin, or making any other change.

After studying the error message we were originally presented with in various places, I was referred to the fact that the file permission for index.php may have become 000. I checked and it had been.

I changed that to 644 as recommended in various places.

However, this blog, which is very important for us, still doesn’t work, and we can’t access a single page on it.

Can anyone kindly suggest how this can be fixed please?

  • plz don’t mind i got database error while accessing ur both links…

    Error establishing a database connection

    so check wp-config.php file once….

Yes, at https://www.azam.net/azam/ the error is “Error establishing a database connection”.

This means that WordPress can not connect to it’s MySQL database. Some possibilities:

    1) In your wp-config.php file are your MySQL user, password, database, and host settings. Did these change?

    2) Is your MySQL server down?

    3) Did your MySQL credentials (login & password) get changed on the MySQL side?

    Thanks.

The site started working all of a sudden without me making any changes.

However, it’s not working at all again now. Tried to access it at least 30 times today. It says in the browser: “Waiting for azam.info”… and the screen hangs for a minute or two. Eventually get an error message such as “no data received”.

Thanks for the advice. What specifically should I check please? The MySQL login details?

Martha, thanks for your very helpful insight. I haven’t changed any of the MySQL or WordPress file logins/passwords for months.

Is there anything at all I can do, as the blog has been down for quite a while now. I can’t even access the WordPress interface for it.

    Thank you.
