I have a site where I created a Custom Post Type using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin. After creating the CPT, I edited the CPT settings to change the “Archive Slug”. The URLs on the site changed properly but the canonical url meta link tag in the head generated by Yoast did not update and was showing the original “Archive Slug” I used when I first created the CPT.

I was able to fix this by editing the database directly but this feels like a bug (maybe?). Hopefully it is not considered to be an edge case since many WordPress users/developers use ACF to register custom post types.

Just thought I should raise a flag. Thanks for all of your great work Yoast team!

    Hi @windmillstrategy

When you say “…..I edited the CPT settings to change the “Archive Slug….”, are you changing this from ACF? Is it possible for you to share with us the steps so we can replicate this from our local site?
