Canonical URL and Facebook shares

    I am syndicating a post from a major website to my website and have to change the canonical URL to their original URL. When I do this, I can no longer share the post from my website on Facebook. Facebook automatically shares the post from the other website instead. Is there any way to get around this? It pretty much defeats the purpose of syndicating content for me.

    Unfortunately, this is something not in our control as when you add a canonical pointing to a different website, Facebook is gonna scrapes the information from the canonical URL.
