Canonical tags

Do the cdn point a canonical tag to original source of the image?
Can I brand the CDN domain and url?

Hello and thanks for your questions and for testing ShortPixel Adaptive Images! ??
Please check these 2 articles, they should answer your questions:
1) https://shortpixel.helpscoutdocs.com/article/80-will-my-sites-images-be-indexed-as-coming-from-shortpixel
2) https://shortpixel.helpscoutdocs.com/article/76-can-i-use-a-different-cdn-with-your-serviceBest regards,
AlexReally cool Alex! Looks similar to the technique used by Cloudinary, well done!
In your example 2) https://shortpixel.helpscoutdocs.com/article/76-can-i-use-a-different-cdn-with-your-service it is a filter for autoptimizer. Possibility you have a solution for other popular plugins such as Wp rocket? Or this wont be needed if I use the branded cdn domain as rewrite domain within wp rocket?
Does it work with your core plugin and webp on the fly converter?
Are your adoptive image service/server cdn.shortpixel.ai actually on a CDN. So it’s not only an origin server and users not using a reverse proxy CDN like cloudflare on top of that would suffer from latency (slow TTFB). With images hosted at though your servers far away from the users. I assume you have CDN, but just want to double check. Many thanks!
Tried it but it does not seem to work. None of the images rewrites to your cdn (just to try if it even works).
Using latest wordpress version 5.0.2, shortpixel, shortpixel AI, wp rocket with lazy load ON and https://theme.co/pro/
Tried on another site as well same issue but one image got totally wrong size but never changed url though.
tried with regenerate css and flush all cache instances etc. Understand it’s BETA but didn’t even get a glitch of it to work for my sites.
Maybe I did something wrong or not working when using shortpixel or wp rocket or with lazy load?
Happy New Year! ??
I’m sorry for my slow reply first of all, there are some situations (themes) where the plugin may not work as expected.
We would greatly appreciate if you could contact directly here mentioning this ticket. Providing us with temporary access to your website would help us a lot as well.Best regards,
AlexHi again Alex,
Same to you!
To recall you forgot to answer this message:

Hello again @alriksson
I’m again sorry for my slow reply, it is best to contact us directly here for a fast answer. The filter you’re mentioning is for Autoptimize because the article refers to the ShortPixel image optimization integration in Autoptimize plugin.
For ShortPixel Adaptive Images(SPAI) there is no such filter as there was no need for it. Yet ??Let me try answer your other questions:
1) As explained here you can use your domain to serve the images.
2) SPAI works well with ShortPixel Image Optimizer but it doesn’t really need it. You can just use SPAI alone. It has the ability to serve WebP files on the fly on the browsers where WebP is supported.
3) SPAI uses our CDN for serving the images, yes. But you can also use your own CDN as explained in the article mentioned above.Best regards,
AlexNo worry many thanks for the answers.
No need for my own CDN just that I can brand it and canonical tags are properly added. ANd wp rockets cdn rewrite is not needed your plugin takes care of it itself and rewrite to cdn urls and serve from SPAI CDN instead and deliver right mime type format based on browser support?
Yes, SPAI will serve the right type of image (WebP or the original format) depending on browser support. The mime type is adjusted accordingly.
Ok rewrite to .webp or just change mime type?
It just change the mime type and returns a WebP image instead of original.
Changing the extension in the URL would require a redirect which isn’t optimal.
