I have read a lot of other posts on this, so just to confirm, in WordPress -> Settings -> General: The Site Address URL is the domain name i’m expecting. Also i’ve done the SEO re-index.

As far as i know, this line has always been set like this:
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://xx/xxx/xx/xxx”> how do i change this to the domain since its always been like this and pointing to the right server, just using an IP and no domain.

Thanks

• Hey @trader88888,

Thank you for using Yoast SEO and for reaching out!

We understand you are seeing your server IP instead of your domain in the canonical output.

Is it possible to share a URL to the site so we can check a few things? Other than that, if your Site Address URL in your WordPress general settings are set to your domain, and you are not overwriting them in your wp-config.php file, we should output the correct domain name in the canonical, and not an IP especially after an SEO re-index as you said you done.

Just thinking further, is the canonical wrong on the whole site, or on specific pages/posts? Are you running the latest version of Yoast SEO, as well as all other plugins and themes? Does your server/hosting environment meet our requirements mentioned here: https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/?
