    Hi there

Usually I don’t fill in the canonical within Yoast SEO plugin, as it is fine per default. However, on this site I noticed the following issue.

The main/default page is https://mobymountain.com/tagtelte. Then there are translated versions, like the UK one: https://mobymountain.com/en/rooftop-tent/.

The canonical set for the main page is fine, but for the UK translated the canonical is set to https://mobymountain.com/en/tagtelte/ – which should instead be the standard UK URL.

The issue is that I’m not able to find the string when translating the page, so I’m wondering whether the string cannot be translated at all?

I have tried both with an empty canonical, and also by manually inserting one (to make sure the string exists), but with no luck.

Maybe is has something to do with the page being set as the shop page in WooCommerce?

This would be a question for the author of the bit of code that displays the string, but if it is text that you enter yourself then this is probably not the plugin you need because it doesn’t translate dynamic content.

Thanks for a quick answer – that makes sense.

I think I might have been a bit too quick here, since I now see that they are actually using more than one translation plugins.
