Canocial URL changes Open Graph Tag as well

Not sure if this is intended. We are doing content syndication (republishing blog posts arround various other blogs with a relevant and bigger audience) and require them to point the canonical URL to our own blog.
The problem is that if they use the Yoast Plugin to do so, changing the “canonical URL” inside the Yoast Options on the edit post screen, changes as well the URL of the facebook og:url tag.
This means if someone tries to share the URL, it gets redirected to the original URL. In my opinion this should be seperated settings. (Canonical URL and open graph URL).
