Cannot "view site" after installation

Hi, I’m new to this but quite pleased with myself that I’ve got this far!
I am setting up a website and have installed WP, got as far as the login page which brought up the admin screen/dashboard page – but when I go to the website name at the top left on the toolbar and click on view site, the temporary home page of my host provider comes up, rather than my new WP site. I have contacted my host provider and they have directed me here. Can anyone help please?
