Cannot validate URLs – white screen of death – but site is working and valid AMP

  • Since a few days, I am getting this error on every URL validation:

    Unable to validate URL. A white screen of death was encountered which is likely due to a PHP fatal error. Please check your server PHP error logs; to do this you may need to enable WP_DEBUG_LOG. If you are stuck, please search the support forum for possible related topics, or otherwise start a new support topic including the error message, the URL to your site, and your active theme/plugins. Please include your Site Health Info.

    But there are no errors in the webservers’ logs and [ redundant link removed ] is working properly and even valid AMP.

    How can I solve that?

  • Thanks for reaching out. Please share your Site Health information privately using this form and we can inspect your current setup.

    If you’re using any optimisaiton or caching plugin with minification features you can also try temporarily deactivating these plugins before checking once more.

    WOW! After deactivating the Autooptimize Plugin, it works!

    Thanks for providing an update. Did you apply any particular configurations such as minification within Autoptimize?

    Removing query strings and other minor tweaks.
    Deferring JS and moving CSS to the footer was done via the hummingbird plugin.
    I deactivated both

    An update for Autoptimize was just released that had new AMP detection functionality (kindly provided by someone from the AMP-team), this should fix any AMP-issue as AO is not supposed to be active on AMP-pages to begin with. Hope this indeed does work ??
