Cannot upload images : says error in red

Hello,

I have been trying to figure out a way to make a thumbnail image appear next to a post. Whenever I add an image under the “set feature image” area the image becomes very large and appears at the beginning of my post and not as a thumbnail next to my post. I am using the Quest theme.

I have been reading some forums about this problem and decided to try some things out but now I have cause an error where I cannot even upload a picture…

I am looking at my FTP right now and the only coding I see that is in red are a few of these alligned to the left. Are these causing my image upload error?

Can someone help me?
