Cannot upload images or post a blog post

  • Hi,

    As of the last 8 days I’ve been unable to do anything on my blog – post a blog post, preview a blog post, upload an image, even just check a text box and save. I run two blogs on my server and both are like this. I have spent hours working with my server and they are pointing the finger at my ISP, although I can send emails, use skype video and upload images to facebook so it’s just a WordPress issue.

    Any ideas?? I’m so confused and have no idea what to do.

  • What happens when you disable all plugins and use the default [edit]theme?

    You are currently using a premium theme. You should check with them also at https://my.copyblogger.com/forums/

    Hi, thank you for your reply.

    When I disable all of my plugins and/or switch to the default theme the problem is not resolved. The problem is also on BOTH of my blogs which use different themes. Highonclearskin.com uses thesis, while Highonhealth.org uses an older free copyblogger theme.

    Can we see them with ALL plugins off and twentythirteen active.

    I have only done that for highonclearskin.com for now (it has a lot less traffic). There are currently no plugins activated and it has the default theme.

    So what happens when you try to upload images? Where are these sites hosted? Have you looked at the error logs on the server?

    For the last 8 days if I tried to post a blog post or upload an image (or plugin), it sits loading for ages then shows a browser error page depending on what broswer I’m using.

    I have been hosting with KnownHost for years without problems. I have worked for hours with them over the last few days to try and find the problem but they can’t find anything on their end. The weird thing is I can video Skype, upload images to facebook, send emails etc. So it is just a wordpress and/or my server issue.

    Have you tried from other ISP’s and other computers to rule out local issues?

    Have you looked at the server error logs?

    I am doing a lot of testing with that in a few hours – I’m currently living in Peru so want to test with someone back in Australia tonight. I did some testing with a friend in the US and he WAS able to upload an image but a 40kb image needed to be attempted twice and it was extremely slow.

    So I’m guessing the problem is a combination of terrible upload speeds with my ISP, instability (packet loss), and something within the WordPress settings that makes the data unable to go across. Simply due to the fact that I can video skype and upload images to Facebook means that my ISP can upload “stuff”. It’s a real mystery to me as to why it’s just on WordPress. I’m running out of ideas ??

    How do I find the server error logs?

    Ahh as for my server, we searched for errors last night and everything came up fine. Any possibility that it could be they have corrected. Nothing has worked, the server appears to be running fine.
