    Hi,

I am trying to build a front-end form for guests to submit a story to the site.

However, uploading an image doesn’t appear to work for me. When I click one of the buttons to upload a file, the page scrolls to the top, but no option to upload a file is presented.

Can you advise what I might be doing wrong? Popups are enabled on my browser, but I see no error message.

    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Hello @webtomeasure,

I am afraid, this sounds like theme conflict. Can you temporarily switch to twenty twenty theme and then check if the issue exists? After checking you can activate your existing theme once again.

Always use a staging site for testing theme conflict or keep a backup of your site.

    Hi Mushrit,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I can’t swap the theme as it would break the site which is live and it’s a modified version of Twentytwelve, and to my shame, without a child theme.

Any tips or suggestions as to where abouts the conflict might exist so I can play around with it?

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hello @webtomeasure,

If you have a staging site, that would be easier to test with the default theme. This is a basic testing process.

For any testing, I believe, a staging site is mandatory especially if your site is live.

Also because you have modified the twenty twenty theme, I would like to request you to check the modification.

    Mushrit,

It’s actually Twenty Twelve I modified, not Twenty Twenty and it was so long ago and so many changes that it would be difficult to check everything, I wouldn’t know even where to start looking.

I do accept your recommendation that I need a staging area, so I’ll go figure that out and test it that way and report back. Not sure yet how long it will take me. I really appreciate you taking the time to provide input, thanks.

    Brian
