First of all, I’ve read the entire sticky relating to having problems uploading media. It does not mention anything about the IO error I’m receiving, and I have tried clearing my cache, deactivating my plugins, and upgrading to the latest Flash version for Firefox.

    “IO error.

An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

This is the error I’m getting, and I believe it actually has nothing to do with upgrading to 2.6. I began receiving this just after 2.6 was released, but BEFORE I upgraded to it. I have since upgraded, and the problem was not resolved along with it.

An example image I’m trying to upload:
    Filename: IMG_0385.jpg
    Size: 811 KB

The photos are straight off my camera.

    Any suggestions? Thanks WordPress Community!

    Anyone? It’s a pretty irritating problem…

thats a disk/file read problem that sounds like a problem with what you are doing and not wordpress — meaning its a local issue.

youre hooking up your camera via USB to some other computer ?? yes/no?? and trying to upload right from there? Also, can you clarify whether or not you have ever been able to do what you are trying to do now?

I hookup my camera to my own computer. I copy the files from my camera to my desktop. I then try to upload the files on my desktop to WordPress, and that’s when I get the error.

I have been able to do this many, many times before. Also, the regular non-Flash uploader works fine.

Resolved: Fixed it myself. The problem was Flash. Even though I had repeatedly installed the latest version, I had never uninstalled it completely, and reinstalled it. That did the trick. Should have known to try that, being in Windows and all…

Hope this finds solution finds someone a relief to their problems!

hi. I’ve tried reinstalling the latest version of adobe flash but the flash uploader still wont work. Here’s what i did:

    1. I downloaded the adobe flash uninstaller
    2. Uninstalled flash.
    3. Installed the latest adobe flash player.

I use firefox and the flash works with other sites like youtube. But i cant use it on my wordpress blog. help!

I noticed that when I logged in using https and try uploading images using flash I get that same error, but when I log in through the normal http the upload works perfectly.

Is this a host issue, or WordPress?

I think it might be a WP error but I’m not sure. Having the same problem here.
