• help pls.. i tried writing a post with images on it but whenever i try to upload one, it says wordpress cannot transfer/move the file to the server. Thing is i already made the wp folder writable (755)…

why is it not uploading images? i checked evry single wp-content-uploads folder, it is writable..

i am also suspecting that everything else is not writable as i have just looked at the theme editor in WP it is not writable, even if 755 permitted at cpanel file manager,

i also suspect that even comments are not too, i have not received any comments in any post.pls. help..thanks in advance…

  • Upload files how? You mean, using the upload module appearing on Write Post and Write Page? If that’s the case, you can upload images when the CHMOD of ‘uploading’ is 711 or 755. I can’t think of the reason why you can’t. But if you still trouble, try using a plug-in called Uploaded File Permissions.

I personally see this on my server. Apache runs as it’s own user so I have all files owned by root and group owned by the apache user, then the permission are 775 on directories that I need to be written to by the webserver. I’m not sure how your host is setup but just something to ask them.

yes, to upload images when writing post, i have it set to 755 file permission, even to 777 but it still cannot upload. error msg.saying is your server writable…my readers are saying too that they cannot see any image in a blog post that i just described, so they assume there is an image, which i do in almost all blogpost..

my host recently moved my account to a new server and that’s when this thing happened with file permissions. thing is, my host and me is not in exactly in good terms, as they try to upsell me a VPS plan as they say my blog overloads their server, so i am left to my own devices with no tech support…pls..help..tia

I’m afraid I cannot help you because I don’t know the entire situation. Your website is hosted at MSWEB Network Solution, right? It’s no offense, but I would leave that host as soon as I could.

on my local server, I’m able to post images and galleries, but on my remote website, I’m unable to post images or galleries. it keeps telling me that the server might not be writable meanwhile i’ve checked all the permissions and it’s writable. please help

I have come across the same problem, but mine is more complex….
When I upload an image and it goes on until nearly 99% finished, it stops.
And I have setted all the files to 777, but it does not work.
