I just updated to the new 3.4.2 version and I can no longer upload pictures.

    In a new post;
There is no message when I use the browser upload option
When I use the multi uploade I get the following

“” has failed to upload due to an error
File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.

I tried this using IE and Firefox

When I try to upload a picture into my media folder it jumps from the upload screen to the media folder but no pictures.

The site I need to update is https://turning-point-balletschool.be/home/

    Any help welcome (urgent)
    Thank you

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Deactivating all plugins didn’t help.

Will try next step and keep this updated.

    Extra questions

Will I need to take the option “overwrite” and will this keep those extra files in that folder?

What modus should I copy them in?

If I overwite wp content I will loose the extra theme I have. How can I save it and the themes adjustments?

Before that, one question: Do you have a .htaccess file that doesn’t allow such uploads?

I did some testing in cpanel direct and could not upload anything there either. After contacting them they explained that they changed their security settings and I would need to add an php.ini file and update the .htaccess file.

After I did this it worked again.

Thanks for the help. This one can be closed
