Cannot upload files into folders in Featured Image upload

When prepping a post and trying to upload a file (image, really) direct using the Featured Image upload functionality, we can no longer choose which folder to drop it into. The option remains Uncategorized. This is a new development, as of 6.2.4, although I may have missed a version or two in between.
To confirm, this is not a problem we previous had. Uploading a Featured Image from within the post allowed us to also choose the category to put the file into. Additionally, this ONLY seems to occur within the Featured Image upload action. Any other way of accessing or uploading media allows us to choose the categories as needed within FileBird.

Thank you for your quick response. Apologies, yes, v.6.2.3 is current.
However your test doesn’t accurately cover the issue I am having. When I upload an image using the normal uploader, as shown in the test, it is fine. But I am not uploading an image into a post, I am uploading using the Featured Image option on the right-hand column. (may need to copy/paste the links)When I do this I see this screen, where I do not have any options to select a folder to upload to (although I used to quite a few versions ago, but that appears to have been removed):

After uploading the file, we used to be able to select which of our folders to place it into (red circle). Now the option remains “Uncategorized” and we cannot change it anymore.
