    Hi there. many sites rely on the Geolite2-country.mmdb file on our hosting server.
    Therefore, I created that file on /usr/share/GeoIP/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb and then put symbolic links in most hostings as such:
    /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/wp-content/wflogs/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb -> /usr/share/GeoIP/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb

    But this causes wordfence to complain that the wordfence cannot be updated, that the file cannot be deleted, etc. How can I get around this problem? I don’t want dozens of (outdated) duplicates of the country mmdb file..

    Hi @tkalfaoglu, thanks for your question.

    Wordfence at this time would require removal of the symlink before updating the plugin to suppress this issue.

    If you have a product suggestion based on your use-case that you think would benefit other Wordfence users, you can contact feedback @ wordfence . com so it can be seen immediately by the correct team.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
